Remember the Titans

1. What were some of the challenges that the Titans faced as their coaches tried to make them into a team at the beginning of the movie? Their races have never been mixed so they weren’t working together and they were disrespecting each other.

2. What did the coaches do that was helpful in shaping the players into a team? They jogged to the civil war field and the coach told the story about how the soldiers were fighting the same war as they are today.

3. What did the coaches do that was harmful to their goal? They didn’t allow any water breaks and they would do three day practices until the whole team got along and played together.

4. What did the players do that was harmful to teamwork? They only cared about each other and wouldn’t work as a team.

5. What did Julius Campbell (the leader of the black students, played by Wood Harris) mean when he told Gerry Bertier (the leader of the white students, played by Ryan Hurst) that “attitude reflects leadership?” He meant that the captain of the team needs to have a positive and helpful attitude so the team will be the same way.

6. How did this feedback impact their relationship and the team? Gerry listened to Julius and the team followed him, they got better as a team.

7. What was the turning point for the team? Why do you think so? The turning point was when Gerry changed his attitude and became friends with Julius and the whole team acted and played as a team.

8. What were some characteristics of the Titans when they became a high-performing team? Some characteristics of their team would be strong, and cooperative.

9. What challenges did the team face after they became a high-performing team? They had to face their school life and all of the people were mad at them for being friends and playing with the black people.

10. How did they respond to these? They dealt with it, and helped each other in the hallway if there was a problem.

11. What kinds of changes do individuals need to make in order to become part of a high-performing team? They would need to be cooperative and helping for their teammates and be aware of who your guarding or going against.

12. What do you think is the most important lesson that you can take away from this movie? The most important lesson I get from this movie is never judge someone before meeting them because all of the white and black people didn’t like each other until they won their first few football games and then people started to like each other.

13. What did Coach Boone expect from his players?  Is this a realistic expectation, why or why not? He expected them to be the best that they could be, and yes I believe that is a realistic expectation because he isn’t asking them to be the best players out there, he’s just asking them to try their best and not give up.

Dak makes a few jokes and before you know it Zoe is laughing uncontrolably. After a while they end up back at the front desk, Zoe leans on Hillda's desk but Hillda turned around and told her to stop sitting on it. Zoe replies back with a annoyed tone saying " i wasn't sitting, i was leaning ". Hillda was angry with Zoe, but the next day Dak comes back and finds out Zoe, the girl of his dreams, has been fired. The girl Hillda has picked to replace her turned out to be his sister, Dak was no longer sad, it turned to frustration. He looked behind Hillda and there was a picture on the wall that looked like a demon dragging someone down to hell, it seemed to Dak like that was the situation he was in at the moment.

Hunger Games Review

Hunger Games review!

The new film “Hunger Games” was rated 85% by audience members’ worldwide. This movie is about Katniss everdean, a teen that volunteered to place in the Hunger Games for her little sister. And Peeta Mellark, a man the same age as Katniss that has trained for years to be in this special event. The Hunger Games is held in a stadium where 2 teenagers, randomly picked from a jar, fight to the death to represent their district.

I do recommend going to see Hunger Games, it looks like a great movie.
